Recently, much to my surprise, I found myself back in the doggy foster/adoption system after my humans decided I was no longer a good fit for their home. I gotta tell ya, after you become a rescue dog more than once, you start to wonder if it’s YOU. But my foster mom says it’s not me at all!!! In fact, she says that I am a very special soul and that I will find the person that deserves a best friend as obedient, gentle, easy going and loving as me and that I am blessed to have another opportunity to find my TRUE forever family. I have to agree!

Although I may be considered an elder dog and I have arthritis that doesn’t stop me from enjoying life. I particularly love toys…of any kind! I don’t know why, but when I get a toy in my mouth, it’s like my brain reverts to when I was a puppy. All I want to do is play! I want you to throw it so I can bring it back. Or let’s play keep away. I bet you money I am faster than you! Just try me. I also love getting out of the house on a walk. Now don’t get me wrong, with arthritis I can’t go as fast or as far as I could when I was a young whippersnapper, but that doesn’t matter. I will go anyway since it keeps me youthful! Plus, I am a champ on a leash! My foster mom says it’s so much fun to walk a dog that won’t leave her side, or even bother with any of the neighborhood animals. The dogs may bark at me, but when I’m out walking, it’s just you and me! I don’t pay attention to the ruckus.

Now, I don’t particularly care for my kennel. I will go in there to eat or when I have to, but I don’t like to stay in there for very long so I will protest to get out. I guess it’s because I am so well behaved in the house that the thought of being cooped up in a cage just doesn’t sit well with me. I want to be where my humans are. I never get on the furniture or destroy anything. (Although I may be known to steal a snack or two off the counter if it’s in reach and occasionally get into the trash if something smells yummy.) But basically, I just like to chill out for most of the day. I have been known to have accidents in the past in the house, but I haven't had a single accident while staying with my new foster mom. She has even had me inside for long stretches and nothing, not a single accident. How ‘bout that?! I am truly a very low maintenance dog.

Overall, I am looking for a home that is willing to give me routine and consistency. I prefer to know when it’s time to eat, time to go out, time to walk, etc. It helps me to be the best pet/companion possible and avoid any mishaps. I am great with other dogs and cats, and also enjoy kids that won’t pull or fall on me. I don’t think there’s a mean bone in me and I truly don’t require much. Give me some good pets here and there, a casual walk a few times a week, a warm dog bed, a toy or two, and a family that will love me forever, and I will be the happiest dog on the planet.
